Rev. Dard Aller
Founder, Partner, Senior Pastor
Rev. Dard is Beach Weddings Hawaii's spiritual anchor, founder and biggest cheerleader. He graduated from Princeton University (B.A. in English Literature) and Hartford Seminary (Masters in Religious Studies). Rev. Dard was ordained as a Pastor in The United Church of Christ in 1975 at The Congregational Church of Salsbury. His resume includes 4 years as the Chaplain of the Garden Tomb in Israel and 7 years as the Founding Pastor of the Hunger Mountain Christian Assembly in Waterbury Vermont.
A 30 year resident of the Big Island, Dard was Founder and Director of Kailua Bay Counseling Service and was responsible for the successful launch of two Christian churches in Kona where he served as Senior Pastor. Now through Beach Weddings Hawaii, founded in 1995, Dard is focusing his spirit, energy and enthusiasm into making your dream wedding come true.
An avid sportsman, Dard is a six time finisher of the Ironman Triathlon World Championship, the Honu and Hilo Triathlons, Honolulu Marathon, and has climbed throughout the Swiss Alps, including summiting the Matterhorn. While working on his B.A. at Princeton, Rev. Dard still found time to captain the Princeton University Ski Team. Don't be surprised if you bump into Dard out swimming at The Pier at Kailua-Kona, on your hike to the top of Mauna Kea, during your next long run or while you're doing a 100 mile bike ride to Hawi and back. Make sure you say "Aloha Rev. Dard!" - we promise it will make his (and your) day.
