This company came highly recommended by a knottie I knew some time ago. She
 had a destination wedding at the Robertson Home back in 2003. Dave Miyamoto
had captured her wedding as well. Her referrals led to us booking the same
videographer and photographer. We later discovered that Revs. Dard and Penei
(our officiant and his wife) also had Lynn Beittel from Visionary Video film
their wedding and she is their favorite videographer on the Big Island. We
booked Lynn several months before our event. She put together a special and
very reasonably priced package for us, which included two camera coverage,
wireless mics and all of our raw footage on mini dv tapes (we chose to
handle the editing ourselves). We particularly wanted two cameras so we
would have different points of view and for the possibility of having two
sites covered simultaneously (for ex: our post ceremony photo session at the
house and cocktail hour at the resort). Lynn was excellent with
communication, answered my emails promptly and in a friendly manner. She
also had terrific suggestions. She asked for the specifics of our day, to be
ready to capture all the key moments. On the day of the wedding she arrived
with her assistant Ron at 3:00 pm to set up. Unfortunately, we barely got to
speak with them all day, as we were busy with everything. They were also
very behind the scenes, filming in a professional and unnoticeable manner.
In fact, when their work was complete they left the reception without us
even knowing, as they did not want to disturb us. We received our complete
footage right after we returned home to New York. We have yet to view our
videos as we are working on another project first and can only have one set
of raw footage on our computer at a time (they are enormous files). However,
based on everything we've heard about Lynn and her company and in our
communications with her, we are confident that the work is of high quality.
(If there are any issues we can always discuss them with her.) We cannot
wait until we can view and edit the footage from our wedding day and share
the results with everyone.
I just saw clips from a friend's amazing wedding video I'm very excited to
watch yours. My fiancee is not convinced we need one so hopefully this will
help us make our decision.
